Driving: Turn left

TLDR: MSM (Mirrors – Signal – Manoeuvre)

• Check mirrors
  • Check your interior mirror to see what’s behind you.
  • Check your left mirror for overtaking vehicles or cyclists.
• Signal left
  • Once you’ve checked your mirror to confirm it’s safe to move, signal left to inform other road users of your intent.
• Position vehicle
  • Position your car in the centre of the road if a single lane or the left side if mutli-lane. Keep your wheel straight until you actually turn.
• Final look and turn
  • Take a final look at the junction to confirm it’s safe to turn and then turn.
