Taking the first left exit

  • Position on the left lane as you approach the roundabout.
  • Check your rear mirror to see what’s behind you and your left mirror for cyclists.
  • Signal left.
  • Take the first left, moving to the left lane of the exit.

Taking an intermediate left exit (up to and including 12 o’clock)

  • Position on the left lane as you approach the roundabout.
  • Check your rear mirror see what’s behind you and your left mirror for cyclists.
  • Don’t signal on approach.
  • On approaching the penultimate exit (the exit before your intended exit), check rear and side mirror to see if it’s safe to exit.
  • If safe, signal left and take the exit, moving into the left lane of the exit.

Taking a right exit (past 12 o’clock)

  • Position on the right lane as you approach the roundabout.
  • Look at your rear mirror to see what’s behind you and your right mirror for cyclists.
  • Signal right.
  • On approaching the penultimate exit (the exit before your intended exit), check rear and side mirror to see if it’s safe to exit.
  • If safe, signal left and take the exit, moving into the left lane of the exit if available.
