What is an ETF?
An ETF is a fund that you can buy and sell on the stock market, just like a share.
For example, you can buy shares in VUSA which is a fund that owns shares in the S&P 500.
Both ETFs and index funds are funds but the key difference is that you can buy ETFs on the stock market whereas you must buy index funds from a provider like Vanguard.
Examples of ETFs include:
| ETF | What it tracks |
|---|---|
| VWRL | Global stock market |
| VUSA | S&P 500 |
| EQQQ | Nasdaq 100 |
| VHVG | Developed world |
| AGGG | Global bonds |
