Suppose you’re working with a team of developers but you want to add some debugging scripts that you don’t want to be tracked in Git and that you don’t want to add entries for in .gitignore.

In that case, you can add entries to a .git/info/exclude file just as you would with .gitignore. Any files entered there will be ignored from Git.
