CLAUDE.md is a MArkdown file where you provide project-specific instructions that should persist across all Claude sessions. Put your project’s conventions, common commands and architectural context here so that Claude operates with the same assumptions as your team.

Tips for a good CLAUDE.md file

Keep it under 200 lines. If something matters only for specific tasks, move it to a skill or a path-scoped rule so it only loads when needed.
