ES.Next refers to whatever is in the next edition of ECMAScript at the time of writing. So, in 2015, ES.Next may have referred to ES2016 and in 2016, it may have referred to ES2017.

ES.Next features will include finished proposals – features that have reached stage 4 in the TC39 process. You can see the generated spec for ES.Next here. This spec should update with time as new features reach stage 4.
